Santa Clara, CA( December 4, 2013) – Edgewater Networks today announced that it has signed Yorktel (www.Yorktel.com) as an authorized reseller of its EdgeProtect 7000 Series line of Enterprise Session Border Controllers (ESBCs). The EdgeProtect 7000 Series will support Yorktel’s portfolio of cloud and video managed services, which includes enterprise-grade video conferencing, professional services, integration and, media services

Yorktel Cloud and Video Managed Services offer new choices to enterprises that are swiftly deployed, customizable and can scale as needed.

“The EdgeProtect 7000 Series is the perfect complement to our current video conferencing platform, as it helps us provide customers with a very useable and manageable Unified Communications solution for video,” said Keith Gyford, managing director of Yorktel EMEA. “Working together, we are able to eliminate the inherent complexities associated with network management and security which are frequent pain points for customers.”

The EdgeProtect 7000 Series is a scalable, single-box solution for small, medium, and large enterprise customers that are increasingly seeking to extend the benefits of video collaboration beyond the conference room to mobile employees, business partners and customers.  The EdgeProtect 7000 Series resolves key challenges for video including firewall traversal, device interoperability, provisioning of mobile clients, quality of end user experience and security.  They are easily deployed and support standards-based SIP and H.323 and SIP/H.460 NAT/firewall traversal with flexible security policy management. The EdgeProtect 7300 works with existing H.323 gatekeepers and also includes an embedded gatekeeper option for H.323 signaling and SIP server. Media features include shortest path media routing to minimize the negative effects of jitter, latency and packet loss on video communications as well as media relay when H.460 firewall traversal is required, resulting in smoother video transmission.

“Edgewater is excited to have Yorktel on board as an authorized reseller of our EdgeProtect line of ESBCs,” said Dave Norman, CEO of Edgewater Networks. “Using our solution, Yorktel will be better equipped to provide superior seamless integration of video conferencing capabilities for multiple deployments, including mobile devices”.
