Continuous Patient Observation

Protecting at-risk patients by enabling quick intervention.
Univago HE™’s Continuous Patient Observation video-enablement solution is designed for patients who are at-risk of self-harm or deterioration. This capability gives clinicians the ability to intervene faster than would otherwise occur with traditional monitoring, or periodic clinician in-person rounds.
In addition to quick intervention, the Continuous Patient Observation application addresses a wide range of health provider needs. Whether within a standard hospital room or a remote location, this capability provides a critical advantage in balancing staff to patient ratios. Many healthcare providers today struggle with a heavy patient load, resulting in fatigued caregivers and less attention per patient. As a result, patient care quality may suffer, and healthcare providers might be subject to higher costs to accommodate longer patient visits.

The iObserver App is one of the critical components of this solution, enabling continuous patient observation via the patient’s Wall-Mounted Video or Mobile Cart system. This virtual sitter capability allows the clinician to keep careful tabs on up to twelve patients at once. In addition, the clinician can prioritize patients who are at higher risk for falls or exhibit potentially harmful behavior such as trying to get out of bed unassisted or pulling on monitoring equipment. The ability to closely oversee multiple patients and raise an alert if needed protects patients from potential self-harm and longer hospital stays.
